Shri Swaminarayan Temple

The 750th Swaminarayan sanctuary in India was introduced in the city on seventh October 2013, in the midst of droning of Vedic mantras and customs that started two days prior. Situated in Wathoda close to the Middle Ring Road, the sanctuary is the biggest among the more than 1,000 sanctuaries that have been set up by Swaminarayan Sanstha over the world.

Headed by the 93-year-old Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the fifth successor of Bhagwan Swaminarayan, the sanstha was set up in 1907 and has a great many devotees around the globe. Keep running by BAPS which remains for Bochanwasi Akshar Purushottam Sanstha, the gathering is commanded by Gujaratis as its author hailed from Gujarat.
